So this was one of the most disappointing experiences of my restaurant week experience. I went to this restaurant with high hopes mostly due to nostalgia from its past glory days. I had the hummus with meat and kibble for my starter. This was the best part of the meal for me although the hummus was a little too salty. For my main I had the chicken escalope with fries. I honestly gave up after 2 bites. It was tasteless and I was unimpressed by the presentation. It looked like a cheese pizza honestly. For dessert, they only had the Lebanese sweet when there's also ice cream on the menu. I honestly wish I could have eaten it and judged it appropriately but I just couldn't get used to the texture. It looked like yougurt and tasted like partially frozen sweetened custard. Wasn't really into it. I wish I had gone to Sakura instead as they share a kitchen. All I have to say is Never again. Just happy I got a voucher and didn't have to pay for the food. Speaking of the voucher, the hostess almost refused to accept it insisting that we pay cash even though we had a voucher. After a couple of minutes back and forth, she eventually let us go. I guess they weren't properly informed. Honestly wasn't worth it.

I ate here with my family (of 4) during the 2016 MasterCard restaurant week and I will say that it was a pleasant surprise. The exterior of the building that houses the restaurant isn't a good representation of what the inside feels like. There's a garden space outside with a traditional pizza oven. I would have liked to sit out but it was a really hot day so we decided on staying inside. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully done. It's warm and inviting just like the staff. I ate off the MasterCard menu while my family ate off their standard menu so I was able to try a lot. For starters we had the vegetable spring rolls (which surprisingly came with a cream based sauce as opposed to the usual pepper sauce... didn't even try it) and the chicken suya (crunchy and not too spicy) as well as the chicken goujons with fries. They were all good. For our mains we had the spaghetti bolognese (the meat had an odd taste) and the penne a la vodka. The spaghetti was alright but I wouldn't order it again cause the taste of the meat spoiled it a bit for me. The penne was well done and the sauce was tasty but a bit too much was poured on so it tasted very salty. My husband went for something off the breakfast menu and honestly it was just ok. We've had better in Lagos. Overall it's a lovely place to have a drink (we tried the chapman and hot chocolate) or a quick bite to eat but it's wouldn't be the first choice on my restaurants to-visit-again list.

Can I just say margarita heaven before I say anything else. I love this restaurant. We always get a large frozen strawberry margarita pitcher and it is to die for. The decor of the restaurant truly represents the Mexican theme although the tables could be a little bigger in my opinion. The food is also very good. They have the best nachos (try the macho nachos) in Lagos in my opinion (and I've tried nachos at a couple of restaurants in Lagos) and let me say they get it right. It's fully loaded and so cheesy and with right amount of crunch, just the way it should be. We also had the Texas fries and beef tacos which were superb as well. For dessert we had lots of choices. Everything came with Icecrem which was a big plus. We got the brownie and it was moist and not as heavy as others I've had. Side note: make a reservation if you can. They have busy nights and you wouldn't want to get turned away at the door. Happy eating...
