Although I’ve been living in Lagos for over 2 years now, I still feel LOST IN LAGOS. There’s always so much to do, and Lagos never sleeps. I was overjoyed when Fashion week came round again because which girl doesn’t love playing dress up?! Okay, well maybe some don’t but this is my forte!! I was born to play dress up! I truly believe a girl should be two things – Fabulous and Classy! ☺
Lagos Fashion and Design week is a multiday fashion event platform that aims to drive the Nigerian and ultimately, the African fashion industry. It brings together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of African designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria. And this year, it was held at the Federal Palace and Casino in Victoria Island.
I totally loved fashion week this year, because it gave everyone a chance to go overboard. I attended all four days and I know I will remember this experience for a long time. I’m proud of the fact that African Fashion has made waves across the globe.
My highlights of Fashion WEEK:
Lisa Folawiyo collection
Mai Atafo collection
Lanre Da Silva collection
Fabulous Runway Makeup from Maybelline
THE VIP Lounge, where I almost overdosed on Ice-cream and Frozen yoghurt!
Lets run through what I wore:
I wore this beautiful Ankara and crop top and skirt from Needlepoint (@needlepointwoman). I’m in love with the prints, and I matched it with shoes from ASOS.COM, did you know that Asos now delivers to Nigeria? How awesome! You can order your goods and they’ll get to you within 14 days.
I wore this edgy shirt/dress from Sally Bawa (@mysallybawa) and teamed it with their retro white jacket, I think the look is so edgy and fashion forward, loved rocking this!
I glammed it up for day 3! I wore this amazing jewelled piece by Lisa Folawiyo (@lisawfolawiyo_studios). Just absolutely stunning, trust me pictures do this piece no justice!
I was back to the designer I started with Needlepoint (@Needlepointwoman). I have to be honest, I’m not usually a fan of jumpsuits, but I totally LOVED this piece.
I’m still recovering from Fashion Week withdrawal symptoms, it was such fun! Remember that life is too short to wear boring clothes, so until you hear from me again, stay fashionable.
